Debate Tournament

Debating at GBHS continues to grow with a team in all divisions of the Auckland Secondary Debating competitions.

Green Bay High School had four students compete in the Auckland Regional debating tournament at ACG Parnell College on Saturday the 22nd of March, where the best teams in Auckland gathered to determine representatives for national debate competitions.

This is the 2nd year GBHS has entered a team, and they put on an impressive showing of two losses and two wins in the pool competition.

Our debaters were: Krisha Karippail, Keya Parekh, Emma Goldstone, and Max McGregor for support.

Congratulations to Krisha, who was selected for the Auckland Regional Development Squad, which is a great achievement; with only 11 speakers picked out of 52 teams (!!)

Krisha will get coaching and mentoring from the New Zealand Schools' Debating Council for 2025.

The team has also received some sponsorship from one of our Waitakere Ranges Local Board reps, alumni parent, and lawyer Greg Presland. Thank you for supporting GBHS debating Greg!
