GBHS is on a roll, with a variety of sporting successes taking place over recent weeks.

NATIONAL ATHLETICS TRACK and FIELD CHAMPS: Lauren Barrett-Hamilton (Yr 12) competed at the National event, held in Wellington over the weekend, winning silver, and bronze, and smashing not one, but two Personal Bests! Lauren placed 2nd for her Triple Jump of 11m.25 (a PB) and 3rd place in the 100m hurdles (another PB). Check out the image of Lauren in action!

SENIOR SOFTBALL ONE-DAY TOURNAMENT: GBHS's Senior Boys' team ended the day on a high note (Friday 15 March) with a victorious win against Mt Albert Grammar School at the nail-biting event held at Rosedale Park, Albany. This was no mean feat, finishing with an exciting loaded base finale!

AUCKLAND AQUATHON CHAMPS: Held at Saint Kentigern College, Pakuranga on Wednesday 12 March. Congratulations to Isaac Gear (Yr 12) and Jacob Hewitt (Yr 13) who placed 2nd in the Senior boys' team, and Dylan Tukia (Yr 10) and Leon Bird (Yr 11) who placed 4th in the Intermediate team.

AUCKLAND VOLLEYBALL CHAMPS: three full-on days of action, spirit, and cheer at the recent champs saw both teams making massive improvements, and are now prepped and ready for action at the upcoming North Island Volleyball Champs this week, to be held at Wairau Park from Wednesday 20 March to Friday 22 March.

Summer Tournament Week has now kicked off and we look forward to sharing more sports stories with you, as results come to hand. GBHS will be represented in:

  • Basketball 3x3 - Papakura
  • Mountain Biking - Rotorua
  • Equestrian Dressage - Cambridge
