ROAD CLOSURE

REMINDER - FULL ROAD CLOSURE / SCHOOL BUS CHANGES:

We are aware of the frustration many families are having at the moment, due to congested school buses and additional delays with the Scenic Drive CLOSURE. Please be patient while we work with AT transport towards a better outcome regarding overcrowding. We will pass on your concerns and will also inform of any additional information as it comes to hand.

There are two large slips on Scenic Drive in Titirangi where the footpath and edge of the road has slipped away. Part of the road is coned off and traffic is currently restricted to one lane by temporary traffic lights. PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS ROAD WILL BE FULLY CLOSED FOR REPAIR from 27 February until the repair is completed, it is expected to take 3-4 months.

Auckland Transport has advised the following LAINGHOLM / WAIMA / WOODLANDS PARK school bus services will be running EARLIER (approx 10 mins earlier) each morning from Monday 4 March, until Scenic Drive is reopened:

• 073: Woodlands Park to GEIS (and return)
• 074: Laingholm to GEIS (and return)
• 075: Laingholm Primary to GBHS (and return)
• 076: Laingholm to GBHS (and return)

DETAILS: From Tuesday 27 February 2024 to Friday 1 March 2024, the school bus routes will be escorted through the road closure and remain on their scheduled routes. From Monday 4 March 2024, these school routes will have to follow the detour route for this road closure (to maintain servicing all bus stops along their route). The morning trips of these school routes will require to start 10 minutes earlier from Monday 4 March 2024 until Scenic Drive is reopened, to offset the additional travel time required for the detour. This new start time will be reviewed and adjusted should the earlier start not be sufficient to offset the detour route travel time.

Significant flood damage to Scenic Drive and the need to build large retaining walls to secure the road WILL cause traffic delays - please plan ahead.
