Kia ora e te whānau, It’s been another great week at Green Bay High School. Our Pasifika Fono was held on Thursday evening and it was fantastic to see so many families coming along to meet together and share ideas. It was particularly special because it's the first time that we’ve been able to meet in person in 18 months and also the first time that we have come together in Mana Tangata. We farewelled Caroline Taripo-Keith who has moved to a role in Tui Tuia, the professional learning team at Auckland University. Caroline has really championed our Pasifika students and we wish her well in her new role.
Sixty of our Year 10 students have taken part in the BP Challenge over the past three days. Students have been working in groups and coming up with creative business ideas which are then pitched to a panel of judges. I really loved hearing the different ideas that our students have developed - we certainly have some talented Year 10 entrepreneurs!
As you are all aware, we have been reinforcing our behaviour, uniform and phone expectations with junior students, and I have really appreciated the support we have received from whānau. It’s great to see our students wearing their uniform with pride!
Have a great weekend. Fiona Barker, PRINCIPAL
