It's life, but not as we know it... Level 1 Science, Biology, Chemistry students (01SCBC) have started their study of the Biosphere by using a microscope to see what life they can find in bromeliad water, as part of the NCEA Pilot study for Level 1 Biology/Chemistry. This was the first time using the microscopes for many, and the room was full of cries of "wow, look at this!" There was a lot of sharing between students so that everyone could see the wide variety of life that could be seen.

In the following weeks students will be learning more about cells and how microorganisms (bacteria, fungi and viruses) function and how they can cause disease. This course is part of the NCEA Pilot study for Level 1 Biology/Chemistry which GBHS is taking part in this year.
