GBHS Newsletter (5 May 2023)
Kia ora e te whānau; While the weather has not been kind this week, there has been a lot happening across the school.
Our students continue to do great things and this week, we’re highlighting four of our Year 12 students. This week we found out that Zuli Wade and Mila Howlett will be travelling to Barcelona in July to take part in a research project as part of the Barcelona International Youth Science Challenge. During the last school holidays, Annie-Rose Collins and Mathias Stovring were awarded a scholarship to attend the Outward Bound Mind, Body and Soul course. I am incredibly proud of the achievement of these students who are demonstrating fantastic leadership skills and grabbing opportunities with both hands.
Next week we have our ‘Attitude’ assemblies for all year groups. While each of the five assemblies have a different focus, they are all aimed at fostering the well-being of our student community. We always get good feedback about the ‘Attitude Team’ from students and staff and I am really looking forward to next week's sessions.
Stay dry, and I look forward to seeing many of you at sport across the weekend.

Science Research (BIYSC)
Pursuing Scientific Research and Careers in Science and Technology Mila Howlett and Zuli Wade (Year 12) are heading off to Barcelona (!) to work alongside leading researchers discovering the ever-changing weird and wonderful world of science.
