Principal's Post, 2 December

Today marks the end of the NCEA exam period. Congratulations to all our senior students who have worked so hard over the past four weeks, your summer break has now officially begun! Thank you also to the team of NZQA supervisors led by Exam Centre Manager Lois Cuneen, as well the GBHS team who have worked so hard to ensure that the exams have run smoothly. There have been so many revision sessions and workshops run across different faculties over the exam period and I want to acknowledge the hard work of all our teachers.
There are always lots of great activities for junior students at this time of the year, and it has been great seeing the Piha beach education trips running again. I also loved seeing our music students performing at Pinesong earlier in the week: their talent definitely brought a smile to everyone’s faces. We are nearly at the end of our pre Christmas season of summer sport and our junior cricket team had a great end to the year, winning their division!
Next week is the last week of term for our junior students. Let’s hope the weather comes to the party so that we can all enjoy the great activities planned.
Have a great weekend, Ngā mihi nui, Fiona Barker PRINCIPAL
