Fore! Heads up as Head of Department plays 72 holes of golf in one day! 72 holes, in one day? How can that be?

"It's a challenge where crazy people like me, and my golf partner, Taman play 72 holes of golf in a single day,' says Head of Department (English) Mr Bacarella, who is getting ready for The Longest Day golf challenge, raising money for the Cancer Society.

Playing at his usual club, Redwood Park, Jon will tee off at sunrise (17 January 2023) and play through to sunset, making the most of daylight hours. It will take approximately 16 hours to complete. Jon has decided to take part in The Longest Day to raise funds for New Zealanders affected by cancer. The funds he raises will help support NZ Cancer Society's work in Auckland.

"It's going to be a HUGE challenge but one that we're looking forward to," says Jon. "And we're hoping our bodies hold up for it!"
