What a weekend for our GBHS swimmers!

A huge congratulations to Jojo Breacker (14), Eleanor Chidgey (14), James Currie (14), Dylan Gear (14), Lucas Green (13), Aimee Marsh (13) and Oscar Raos (14), who competed at the Auckland Regional Swimming Champs against the region’s top swimmers.

With Auckland making up around a third of New Zealand’s population, simply qualifying for these championships is a fantastic achievement.

Held across three days, our seven swimmers competed in 30 races, with plenty of great swims, personal bests and some fantastic results.

Age Group Medals: 🥈 Dylan Gear – 50m Backstroke 🥈 Aimee Marsh – 50m Breaststroke 🥈 Aimee Marsh – 100m Breaststroke 🥉 Aimee Marsh – 100m Individual Medley

Open Finals: A special mention to Aimee and Dylan (pictured above) and to Jojo, who all made Open Finals, competing against the top swimmers in the region regardless of age.

Well done to all seven swimmers. The results are a reflection of the early mornings, hard training and commitment that goes on behind the scenes. They should all be incredibly proud of their efforts!

And there’s no slowing down yet… Dylan and Aimee head to Christchurch later this month for the NZ Nationals Short Course Champs, where they’ll compete against the best swimmers from around the country.

Thanks to the amazing coaching at Mt Eden Swimming Club, where they all train together. It’s exciting to see such a talented young group of swimmers coming through at Green Bay High School.
