Student Health and Attendance
At Green Bay High School, we recognise the importance of student health and wellbeing and the important role regular school attendance plays in learning, development and maintaining social connections. We want our students to be at school and engaged in their learning whenever they are well enough to do so. However, health comes first. We are currently seeing an increase in respiratory and other viral illnesses, and ask that students who are unwell remain at home until they are well enough to return. This supports their recovery and helps prevent illness spreading to other students and staff. For guidance on when your child is well enough to attend school, please see Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora’s Knowing if your child is well enough to go to school - guidance for parents and caregivers.
Need to update your child's Medical details?
Please contact GBHS's Registered Nurses via email: [email protected] (or) phone: (09) 817 8173 ext 253.
Student Services and Sick Bay:
Feeling unwell? Students who feel unwell during the school day should go to the school sick bay, situated in the Student Services area.
Our Student Services team and School Nurses are here to help. If students need additional medical help or need to go home, a member of the Health team will contact parent/caregivers to make arrangements.
Students will need to sign out before going home. Parents/Caregivers are requested to collect students from the Student Services area - located at the back entrance of the main Reception building.
