Rogaine WINNERS

Thursday, 23rd July 2026 at 1:00pm

Congratulations to Aidan Barrett-Hamilton, Cormac Gray and Oscar Raos, who have won the National Rogaine champs!

The NZ Secondary Schools' Rogaine Champs 2026 were held in Christchurch during the term break (16-19 July), with GBHS represented by Tsubaki Moore (Yr 10), Fran Ishida (Yr 10), Cormac Gray (Yr 10), Oscar Raos (Yr 10), and Aidan Barrett-Hamilton (Yr 10).

The boys set a blistering pace, securing 1st place in the Intermediate Boys' Rogaine - a really impressive effort for the three-hour event in the Port Hills! Their points would have placed them 3rd in the Senior Boys' category, which, for Year 10s, is quite remarkable. Aidan also placed 3rd in the Individual Boys' Sprint and Long - held at Lincoln University and in the coastal forest north of Christchurch.

The girls' team came 1st in the Composite Intermediate Girls' relay and 7th in the Rogaine. Tsubaki placed 8th in the Long; and Cormac placed 10th in the Sprint.

GBHS also secured 3rd Place in the Small Teams category.

Congratulations also to Aidan, who has been selected for the NZ Secondary Schools' team, and to Cormac and Tsubaki, who have been selected for the NZ Development Team - both teams will be competing in Canberra for the upcoming Australian National Champs and the Oceania Area Champs. Awesome!
