This past Tuesday, September 8th, the sidelines were packed shoulder-to-shoulder as supporters gathered to watch an incredible clash between the GBHS 1st XV and the Old Boys. Standing room was at a premium, and the atmosphere was electric right from kickoff.

While the Old Boys ultimately secured a 54-19 victory, the scoreline doesn't tell the whole story. The match was fast, highly skilled, and competitive until the final whistle, with Evan Webster, one of our departing Year 13s, ending his GBHS rugby career in style by crossing the line for the final try. Our 1st XV played with massive heart and undeniable grit, giving the Old Boys a true run for their money and ensuring plenty of sore bodies the next day!

This match was a fitting conclusion to a fantastic rugby season. GBHS rugby has never been in a stronger position, and with a talented group of up-and-coming young players rising through the ranks, the Old Boys might be in for a real shock when next year's fixture rolls around.
