School Nurse Wellness Message:

There are many winter bugs circulating - please keep students home if they are unwell.

If you have any concerns about sickness and assessments/exams, please feel free to contact the school Nurses (or) the level Deans.

Our school nursing team is aware of a recent case of chicken pox at school. For most people, chicken pox is a mild disease and the best defence against chicken pox is immunisation. Immunisation provides long-term but probably not lifelong immunity to chickenpox. All children in New Zealand can have chickenpox immunisation at 15 months of age. It is a part of the National Immunisation Schedule. Most people who have this vaccine will not get chicken pox. If an immunised person does get chicken pox, it is usually mild.
