Emerging Youth Artists - opportunity to exhibit at the 2027 NZ Art Show in Wellington!

The BFS Next Generation Artists programme is open to young and emerging artists aged 25 and under: from secondary school students to tertiary students, graduates, self-taught and independent artists.

Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit, sell and be discovered at the 2027 NZ Art Show in Wellington, 4–6 June 2027.

BFS Next Generation Artists are looking for original ideas, an emerging creative voice and potential: not simply the most technically accomplished work.

There is no exhibition fee, and participating artists will be eligible for $1,000 in awards.

Applications open 1 October 2026 and close 27 February 2027. Selections will take place throughout the application period, so participants are encouraged to apply early.
