GBHS's junior athletes have been giving it their all across a busy and exciting week of sport!

Our Junior Boys' Volleyball team had a strong start to the third day at North Island Champs at Bruce Pulman Arena, defeating Whakatāne 2-0 to finish 3rd in their pool. They now move into playoffs for 9th–16th place in their division, with their first crossover match against Tauranga Boys this evening. We’re incredibly proud of the grit and determination they’ve shown over the past few days, some excellent volleyball on display

Our Junior Girls' Volleyball team have been on a fantastic run at the same venue, remaining undefeated throughout pool play and finishing top of their group. This outstanding effort sends them through to the playoffs for 1st–8th place. A huge congratulations to the girls, and a massive thank you to Peter Jamieson, Noah Saunders, and Barbara Brewer for generously giving up their time this week to coach, support, and encourage both teams through a big tournament.

Our Junior Cricket team has also been in action at the T20 tournament at Keith Hay Park. After their second match on Wednesday was abandoned due to some nasty weather, they now face Western Springs today in the playoff for 5th/6th place. We look forward to sharing the final result once confirmed!
