PISA - Programme for International Student Assessment

Green Bay High School was selected to take part in PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) 2025, a worldwide education research study.

The test was administered on Wednesday, 6th August, at Green Bay High School.

Sixty-two students were selected to take part in this year’s study, completing a two-hour test and a 30-40 minute questionnaire. The exam administrators were very appreciative of our students, saying they conducted themselves with a level of maturity and focus.

Later in the year, students will receive their individualised results (confidential to the student) and a certificate of appreciation from the Ministry of Education. The school will also receive a summary of the students’ overall results.

PISA occurs every three to four years and measures the achievement of 15-year-old students around the world. New Zealand has taken part in every PISA assessment since it started in 2000.

PISA looks at how well young New Zealand adults perform in reading, maths and science alongside their peers from other participating countries. The study also collects information on students’ attitudes, beliefs, learning strategies and their home and school environments.
