To mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the NZ Government has announced a one-off national public holiday, to take place on Monday 26 September 2022. New Zealand will mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II with a State Memorial Service held in the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul - this will be televised and live-streamed. Starting at 2pm, with a minute of silence. The minute's silence is a way for people, wherever they might be in New Zealand, to stand together to mark an extraordinary 70 years of service.
