Finance and Payroll Administrator – Green Bay High School Auckland
(Posted: 11 June, 2026). Permanent Part-time – 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Green Bay High School is a busy co-ed secondary school in West Auckland with a growing roll.
The position of the Finance and Payroll Administrator provides and oversees the effective delivery of school accounting functions, receivables and payables and leads the payroll function for the school.
This role is a senior position and has one direct report. The school uses Xero accounting software and the full google suite. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word would be beneficial.
You will work closely with the Business Manager and be responsible for payroll payables and receivables. You will be a hands on person and enjoy working in a busy and varied role. Your confidentiality and attention to detail will be essential as this role is responsible for processing the school payroll.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the Edpay and toolkit applications and have a working knowledge of school collectives and employee legislation.
This position reports to the Business Manager.
Formal Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Relevant accounting qualification or experience at an appropriate level.
- Previous experience in a finance/accounting capacity, preferably in a school environment.
- Sound knowledge of statutory requirements – payroll and GST.
- Previous experience with payroll processing and an ability to interpret Collective agreements.
- Experience with Edpay or Toolkit preferable.
- Ability to pick up systems and processes quickly.
- Good working knowledge of KAMAR.
- Confident user of XERO.
- Confident with google and or Microsoft applications.
- Great communicator verbal and written.
- A team player who can also work accurately and independently
This role is classified under the Vulnerable Children Act (2014) and as such the appointment will be subject to a satisfactory police vetting check.
The terms and conditions of employment will be those set out in the Support Staff in School Collective Agreement.
This job is available from July 20th or a mutually agreed date.
