Migrant Family Hui
Wednesday, 26th June 2024 at 12:26pm
INVITATION & RSVP FORM:
Green Bay High School has sent invitations to our Migrant families to attend our Migrant Family Hui, on Tuesday 2 July, at 6.00pm.
• Tuesday 2 July, 6.00 pm, in the school Staffroom • Refreshments available • Please bring a plate of food to share
As a school, we always want to improve and learn, and we want to build closer relationships with individual learners and their families, to ensure that we understand their needs, and to shape how we reflect them in school life.
Regular hui with our Māori and Pasifika whānau have been instrumental in developing closer relationships with those communities. On Tuesday 2 July at 6.00 pm we will host our first hui for families who have migrated to New Zealand, including refugees.
We hope that through this hui, we will get to know each other better and learn what success looks like for migrant communities within our school.
Meet with our Board of Trustees, who would like to hear your views about education, and how we can best support your child to be successful at Green Bay High School.
We will also present useful information about the New Zealand school system, how NCEA works, and key people you can contact within our school to help your family navigate the schooling years ahead.
He aha te mea nui tea o? He tangata he tangata, he tangata! What is the most important thing in this world? It is people, it is people, it is people!
For refreshment and catering purposes, invitees are requested to please RSVP by Wednesday 26 June by clicking HERE.
I look forward to personally meeting you! - Fiona Barker, PRINCIPAL
