Raising School Spirit: Get ready for GBHS’s first major House event of 2025 – Carnival Day!
🎪 GBHS Carnival Day 2025 – A Day of Fun, Competition & Community Spirit! 🎉 This exciting event is all about bringing our school community together through fun activities, friendly competition, and plenty of House spirit. Students will have the chance to participate, strengthen friendships, earn House points, and most importantly - have a fantastic time!
📅 When: Friday, 28th February 2025
🔥 Be Prepared for a great day!
Students are to dress in appropriate clothing, wear their House colours/accessories, and participate in a wide variety of events. (There will be a form-time challenge in the morning for any last-minute costume touches).
- 🏃JEANS are NOT appropriate clothing for Carnival Day.
- 🔥SUNBLOCK, HATS, FOOD and WATER are essential. Need a hat? GBHS Bucket Hats ($20) and GBHS Caps ($19) are available online - Order yours today!
🔥 What’s Happening?
Throughout the day, students will rotate through five different activity zones:
- 🎭 Wacky World
- 🎪 Carnivàle Area
- 🎈 Inflatables
- 🏃♂️ Casual Athletes
- 🧘♀️ Zen Den
- For those who love a challenge, students can sign up for our competitive athletics events, including:
- 🏅 Sprint Events: 100m, 200m, 800m
- 🏅 Field Events: High Jump, Shot Put
🍔 Food & Refreshments The tuck shop will be open during interval and lunchtime, offering special combo deals that students can pre-order. These deals are available on all year-level Google Classrooms for easy reference.
💛 Supporting a Great Cause We will be collecting gold coin donations during form time to support Visionwest, a local charity that provides vital community services. 🎯 Extra Fun! Don’t forget to bring some coins—students will have the chance to:
- 💦 Soak their teachers
- 📌 Tape their teachers
- 🍧 Enjoy delicious snow cones (a crowd favourite!)
It’s going to be a fun-filled day packed with energy, laughter, and school spirit. We can’t wait to see everyone getting involved and making this Carnival Day one to remember!
