HAPPY RETIREMENT!

GBHS's Receptionist, Jenni Child, was serenaded with a standing 'last post' ovation as she brought down the school flag for the last time at the end of the school day today.

Jenni has seen many changes during her 25 years of service at Green Bay High School, with the introduction of a school uniform, the implementation of a school zone, and working with three Principals (Lionel Devaliant, Morag Hutchinson, and Fiona Barker) not to mention a huge growth in the school roll.

"There were only about 560 students when I first started!" says Jenni, adding the school roll is now close to 1800.

Over the years, just about every student has spent a day in the office working with Jenni, as part of their school service duties - the Year 10 Office Runners have enjoyed numerous hot drinks, morning-tea treats and chocolate!

We wish you all the very best in your retirement Jenni. You have been such a huge part of our school community, your welcoming presence, smile, and contagious laughter will be sorely missed.
