Putting their best feet forward ...
Labour weekend may be a time to relax and unwind for many, but for a group of very talented dancers, this weekend will be nothing but lights, camera, and action!
Zoe Cotterell, Hazel Day, Chloe Greenstreet, Gemma Greenstreet, Daniella Lemamea, Kiana Marsh, Isabel Wannan (Waitakere City School of Dance) and Arabella Ray, and Ruby Wyness (DANZA) will be taking to the stage with their respective troupes, competing in the 2023 National Young Performer Awards - held in Palmerston North.
Performing Arts Competitions Association of New Zealand Inc (PACANZ) aims to provide a platform to identify some of the most talented young performers in New Zealand, and to provide assistance towards developing their potential.
As well as recognition, there is prize money up for grabs for each of the four soloist art forms (Modern Dance, Musical Theatre, Instrumental & Speech and Drama):
- Winner: $5,000 Tuition Grant, 2nd Place: $3,000 Tuition Grant, 3rd Place: $1,500 Tuition Grant.
- Prize money for the winning Troupe is $3,000 for 1st place, $2,000 for 2nd place, and $1,000 for 3rd place.
Good luck to all competitors, we wish you well and look forward to hearing all about it, upon your return!
