Leadership Camps

Thursday, 23rd November 2023 at 10:35am

Such a great learning experience for our rangatahi!

Learning in Action Camps for Year 10 students are now completed, with the last group returning safely home on Wednesday afternoon.

Students took part in an overnight (two-day camp) hiking for up to 4-6 hours each day as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, navigating in groups to the Pinnacles Hut, where they cooked a group dinner, breakfast, and lunch. Students have put into practice the learnings they have around Navigation, Bushcraft, and Tramping.

Leadership In Action promotes students' leadership and decision-making abilities in a variety of activities designed to challenge them mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Students are assessed on how well they demonstrate leadership in action, including establishing personal goals and plans, managing projects, and setting high personal standards.

He ōranga ngākau, he pikinga waiora - Positive feelings in your heart will enhance your sense of self-worth.
