Emerging Leaders

Thursday, 11th September 2025 at 11:53am

Aotearoa Resettled Community Coalition (ARCC), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, invited GBHS and other schools across Auckland to participate in the Emerging Ethnic Leaders Breakfast on Wednesday, last week - celebrating Tāmaki Makaurau’s growing diversity and recognising the positive contributions of our rangatahi.

The Emerging Ethnic Leaders Breakfast recognised students from diverse ethnic backgrounds who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and service in their schools or communities. This event aims to foster stronger partnerships between students, teachers, schools, and both local and central government bodies to grow our future leaders.

Year 12 students Sienna Pereira and Ackshaya Prabagaran were selected to represent GBHS. Both students have only been in NZ for a short period of time, and have fully embraced our school and every opportunity available. Both were an integral part in helping our school's Cultural Week to be the success that it was.

Sienna and Ackshaya demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities, and we thank them for their service to our school and community.
