Week 10 Sports

The wet weather certainly has not dampened our spirits!

Our Girls' Basketball won by 7 points on Thursday against St Mary's College, and the U17 Blue Basketball Boys' team were up by 4 points at the final buzzer against Lynfield College.

Saturday's Junior Netball games marked the end of Round 1, with five more games left to play until finals. Two of our Green Bay teams, 9A and 9B, went head-to-head against each other with bragging rights up for grabs; an intense finish left 9A victorious! The Year 13 Football, 14 Development Football, and 9A Boys' Football all had great wins over the weekend; and a strong U85's Rugby side took home a 26-10 win against Auckland Grammar.

It's nearing closer to the end of the Senior Netball season with just four more games left. Most teams are on track to make it into the top 4 playoffs of their grades; all they need is to keep the momentum going!

We had 13 students compete at the National Cross Country Champs over the weekend with some great results, (keep an eye out on our socials and the Cross Country item in this week's newsletter for the full write-up).

We will have to leave you in suspense a bit longer with the results of the Girls' Football games, as all games were postponed due to Wednesday's terrible weather.

Also on Wednesday, we had 9 students compete in a Squash One-Day Tournament held out at Eden Epsom Squash Club. Everyone competed so well, taking on some high graded players and coming away with some great wins. Our Girls' Team (Miriama Brown, Lilly Jamieson and Ollie Schamrel) came away with a 1st Place finish; great practice for when they compete at the Squash Nationals in August this year alongside Anna Brown and Mathilda Kearney!

Last night (Thursday 25 June) our Girls' Hockey played Henderson High School; and the Girls' Basketball team and U17 Green Basketball Boys' teams had Home games - official results still to come!

The First XI Boys' Football take on Rutheford College this evening (Friday 26 June) at Crum Park, this'll be one to watch!

This weekend, our 3rd XI Boys' Football and 9 Development Boys' Football will both be playing here at school on Saturday. Our Junior Netball teams will be playing their last games before the holidays. Both rugby teams go up against Auckland Grammar sides for away games.
