Earlier this week, over 80 Level 3 Biology students went on a field trip to Auckland Zoo to see real-life examples of animal behaviour, responses and morphology linked to two of their externally assessed topics.
During one of the educational sessions, they were handed a section of giraffe skin, rhino horn, and porcupine quills to pass around, with a focus on how these structures are adapted to support survival in the animal's natural environment.
