Celebrating Pride in every school - Whakanuia te uenuku ki ia kura.
Green Bay High School recognises and supports each student’s sense of belonging.
Schools’ Pride Week Aotearoa (2 - 6 June 2025) is an important way for school communities to affirm that rainbow students, staff and whānau belong.
It is a celebratory week of events and activities to support rainbow youth with a range of activities, such as 'Out of the Shelves' a Rainbow storytelling competition - see our friendly school librarians for more information!
Schools' Pride Week Aotearoa is created by InsideOUT, a national organisation that works with youth, whānau, schools and communities to make Aotearoa a safer place for rainbow youth and aims to:
- Celebrate rainbow staff and students in our school communities, increasing a sense of belonging
- Support schools to facilitate activities and pride celebrations in their school, through the sharing of resources and information
- Give schools opportunities to incorporate rainbow issues into NCEA standards and subjects, and normalise rainbow identities across the curriculum
