LEST WE FORGET:

Each year, Green Bay High School student leaders and the school choir commemorate Anzac Day with the local community, participating in the Titirangi RSA Service, held at Titirangi Memorial Hall.

This year, the service was an extraordinary display of talent and dedication from students and served as a poignant tribute to the sacrifices of our servicemen and women. Green Bay High School choir Ngā Manawa Tītī took the stage, and their rendition of "Lift Me Up" from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" was especially moving, featuring heartfelt solos by Megan Evans (Year 10) and Mil Rodgers (Year 10).

The wreath ceremony afterwards was a beautiful homage to those who gave their lives for our freedom. This day was a blend of solemn reflection and uplifting music, reminding us of the enduring legacy of Anzac Day.

GBHS's choir, Ngā Manawa Tītī began the day with meticulous preparations, rehearsing songs and practising the national anthems of New Zealand and Australia. Looking ahead, our school choir calendar is very busy in preparation for a rest home tour on May 29th, followed by the GBHS Music Night on Wednesday 12 June - showcasing our diverse musical talents.

The pinnacle of term 2 will undoubtedly be Ngā Manawa Tītī's performance at the Auckland Town Hall for the Big Sing Choral Festival (Wednesday 19 June), with the World Choir Games scheduled during the holidays.

It is great to be able to offer students at Green Bay High School plenty of opportunities to shine and share their passion for music with the wider community!
