Winter Wellness
Friday, 2nd June 2023 at 9:10am
Colds, flu and other respiratory illnesses are common in schools during winter. Please make sure your child stays at home if they are feeling sick, or have any cold or flu symptoms. Anyone who is unwell should stay at home until 24 hours after symptoms have gone.
- The symptoms for cold and flu can be similar to COVID-19. If you have symptoms stay at home and get a test. Click HERE for Te Whatu Ora / Health New Zealand information about COVID-19 including isolation times
- Please take the time to read the following Fact Sheet, provided by Ministry of Health - CLICK HERE.
Collecting your child from Sick Bay:
Students who feel unwell during the school day should go to the school sick bay, situated in the Student Services area. Our Student Services team and School Nurses are here to help. If students need additional medical help or need to go home, a member of the Health team will contact parent/caregivers to make arrangements. Students will need to sign out with a parent/caregiver before going home. Parents/Caregivers are requested to collect students from the Student Services area - located at the back entrance of the main Reception building.
If your child is unwell, please contact your GP for treatment and advice, additionally you may like to speak with one of our school nurses Melissa Povey, or Greer Cutfield. Attendance must also be reported via the SchoolBridge App (or) directly to Attendance Officer Julie Southey.
