Hobbiting Around Hamilton

International students take a tour of Hobbiton and Hamilton Gardens.

Earlier this week, seventeen International students from Green Bay High School embarked on the home of hobbits, the infamous Shire at Hobbiton, in Matamata.

There are some very big Lord of the Rings fans amongst this group, who were thrilled to have the opportunity to see the biggest movie set in the Southern Hemisphere.

The weather was kind, the rain stopped and the sun came out. The tour was topped off with a ginger ale at The Green Dragon before having a quick stop at the Hamilton Gardens (favourite garden: Te Parapara Garden) on the way back to Tāmaki Makaurau.
