Ma te kotahitanga e whai kaha ai tātau - In unity, we have strength.
Earlier this week, Year 9 students learned our school Haka, as part of their Orientation. It was great to see everyone taking pride in whanaungatanga, and gaining a sense of belonging to Green Bay High School.
With growing confidence, their voices became louder. We can't wait to hear a full-school rendition!
Below are the words of He Angitū Ngātahi E, written & composed by past pupil Tyler Hireme (He Taonga Māori honours recipient (2021, 2022).
KAEA: Taringa whakarongo, Kia rite, Kia rite, Kia mau!
Tātou katoa: Hi auē, hi!
KAEA: Motukaraka
Tātou katoa: Hi!

Tātou katoa: Hā!

Tātou katoa: I a ha hā! Tū te ihiihi, tū te wehiwehi, tū rite ki te kauri tū i te wao o Tiriwa e.
