New Road Markings on Firle Place

The following information is from Auckland Transport, in response to community requests: Auckland Transport are planning to paint broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) and install No Stopping Off Roadway restrictions (no parking on grass berms) to make it easier to drive down Firle Place. • Paint broken yellow lines along the western side of Firle Place, around the cul-de-sac, and at the intersection with La Rosa Street. • Install No Stopping Off Roadway restrictions on Firle Place. This means that parking on the berm (grass strip next to the road) is prohibited.

Investigations have found that when vehicles are parked on both sides of Firle Place, it becomes too narrow for traffic to pass through, especially for larger vehicles such as emergency service vehicles. Painting broken yellow lines allows parking on one side of the road, while always guaranteeing road access. These planned changes will enable people to park on Firle Road without blocking the traffic lane.

Works will be completed by July 2023.
