GBHS Newsletter (Week 7) 20th-24th November, 2023
To steal and repurpose the film title, it is "everything everywhere all at once" for Green Bay High School. In this newsletter we have mountains, rivers, oceans, and classrooms all having been the venues for our students' learning.
The important day to day classroom studies continue as we move through the final part of the term but we have also been fortunate to be able to provide experiences outside of the classroom in a variety of different settings. The challenges of academic study and outdoor education in some ways differ, but in many ways are connected too.
The reality of exams - indeed that very final assessment for many of our Year 13 students - is quite confronting and it is with pleasure that we can reflect on great attendance at the exam sessions as the seniors, prepared well by their own revision and support from staff, complete their programmes. And the "reality" of television Korean-style was experienced by Nika Plesnik (Year 10). Please do enjoy the video of her debut on Korean television.
The big smiles, awards, goodbyes and, perhaps tears for some, that come with graduation are just around the corner. The welcomes and visits for our incoming Year 9s have already started. As sad as it is to say goodbye to our Year 13s, it has been wonderful to welcome the hundreds of intermediate students to our school this week to give them a bit of a look around. The wheel turns and soon these Year 8s visiting our school will be Year 9s arriving as fully fledged members of our family.
Another week completed. Another set of memories made in the classroom, on the mountain top, and in the (Korean) television studio.
All the best for a lovely weekend.

Y8 Transition Visits and Assessments
Thank you to our fantastic Year 9 role models. We are very proud of how our students take on responsibility and leadership roles - answering an array of questions from students who are new to our school, during Transition Week. What better way to get an insight into how we operate, than straight from the students themselves! Comments such as "OMG this place is so big!" and "This is cool!" were among some of the excited and enthusiastic Year 8 discussions as they made their way through various parts…
