Kia ora e te whānau, It’s amazing how much you can fit into a week, and there has been so much to be proud of over the past 7 days. It’s an exciting time for sport at GBHS and we’ve had some phenomenal results across the season and during the national tournaments which have been taking place across the week. We have certainly demonstrated the strength that is growing across our sporting codes. The U85kg rugby team deserve a special mention. They played in the grade final against Auckland Grammar School last week and though they narrowly lost 10-8, the achievement of this team across the season and in making the final was phenomenal. The Green Bay team was the only co-ed school in the 1R U85kg finals and over the season they won 5 out of 7 games, coming 2nd in the grade.
We’ve had 4 teams taking part in tournaments this week and I am really proud of the commitment and resilience of these teams. There have been highs and lows and we are looking forward to seeing the results of the final tournament games. It has been so good talking to parents and supporters on the sidelines and we are always grateful for the high level of support we have received.
A real highlight this week was our Whānau hui on Tuesday evening and our Migrant Hui on Thursday evening. These are now established as termly events and I really enjoy getting to know the different families in our school community and hearing their ideas about how we can work together to make our school a better place.
Have a great weekend.

Proud coach Aaron Harris has nothing but praise for the boys whose commitment and dedication, both on and off the field, shone through. With the half-time score sitting at 10-3 to Grammar, our boys gave it their all to ensure Grammar did not break GBHS's defence. Tom Hansen's try, and a penalty kick by Liam Chisholm brought the game within a 2-point margin,…
