Lockdown Practice Exercise
Thursday, 26th February 2026 at 9:20am
Green Bay High School conducted a planned lockdown exercise (Tues 24 Feb) under the guidance and support of Harrison Tew, who specialise in emergency management planning for schools.
As part of maintaining our emergency procedures in our school, specialised training was conducted with our senior leadership and staff - and students also received information on how to respond in an emergency directed at their respective age groups from either their teacher or Harrison Tew.
During the lockdown practice exercise we tested out our new Text Messaging service emphasising that it is an exercise/practice and that all updated information will be posted on the school website.
According to our statistics, the text message was sent to parent/caregiver cellphones listed on our school database - however later in the day we received correspondence from many familes saying only one parent/caregiver received the text (or) in some cases, received the text some time later, in the afternoon.
We thank those families who contacted us to let us know. Communication is important to us. Please be assured we are looking further into this error in order to have it corrected.
We thank you for your support.
