Just before the long weekend, GBHS Sport ended the week on a winning streak, with our Girls' Hockey team having an amazing 2-1 win against St Dominic's College, and our Girls' Basketball and U17 Green Boys' Basketball teams versus Henderson High School, with both of our teams taking home the win!
With no fixtures taking place last weekend, due to King's Birthday, GBHS Sports was straight back into action on Tuesday, with our Premier Girls' Netball having a great 34-21 win over St Dominic's College. Our Senior Girls' Blue team also fought hard for a 20-17 win against Kaipara College, and the Senior Girls' Social team had an eventful 35-8 win against Henderson High School. We're now at the end of Round 1 of the Senior Netball competition, with Round 2 due to commence next week.
It was a top-of-the-table clash on Wednesday for our First XI Girls' Football team, going head-to-head against Onehunga High School on home soil. The girls kept composed and played some outstanding footy, coming away with a 3-1 victory! This now means they're sitting top of the table with a nice 3-point lead. Congratulations girls! More good news; our 2nd XI Girls' Football team took home a whopping 7-0 win against MAGS, and our 9A Girls' Football team also had an amazing 3-0 against Waitakere College. What a week for Girls' Footy!
On Wednesday, our Boys' Hockey team had an awesome 6-1 win against Henderson High School, who were sitting top of the table before the game. Way to go team!
A couple of tough losses for our two Junior Boys' Basketball teams on Wednesday, with the Blue team narrowly losing by 3 points. Our U17 Green and Girls' Basketball teams both play here at home this afternoon (Thursday 4 June), and our U17 Blue Boys' Basketball team are playing at Kelston.
Our Girls' Hockey team had a tough game against Avondale College, who are currently first on the table; with a 6-0 loss.
The First XI Boys' Football are back in action tonight (Friday 5 June) taking on Botany Downs Secondary College at Crum Park: 7.30pm kick off.
It's now business as usual for the rest of the term for our football, rugby and netball teams, who all have scheduled games for this Saturday.
