GBHS’s Year 10 students have had a taste of NCEA and are enjoying the sweet taste of success!
The proof is in the pudding - thanks to our English and Maths departments, who have worked alongside Year 10s to guide and encourage hard work and effort in the recent CAA Exams (Common Assessment Activity).
These Literacy and Numeracy standards aim to provide foundational skills to support students in further studies, work, and life, providing a first taste of an actual NCEA exam setting for Year 10 students.
CAA – Literacy and Numeracy Results: Results for the CAA Reading, Writing and Numeracy assessments were released on 14 July 2025. We would like to congratulate everyone involved for the very pleasing results achieved by Green Bay High School. This shows a genuine commitment of our students and staff who are working diligently to meet the needs of the curriculum. Our statistics show a success rate of 75% for our Year 10 students (Reading). This is something we can all be very proud of, especially in comparison to the national average of 61.20% across secondary schools nationwide.
As well as Reading, our Year 10s had a 72% success rate for Writing (compared to the national average of 55.30%) and 74% in Numeracy (compared to the national average of 57%).
Login to view Results: Students can view their results by logging into their NZQA Student Login account. Once logged in, they’ll need to scroll to the bottom of the page to see the results.
September Exams: Green Bay High School is dedicated to supporting all students through their English classes and helping them feel confident and well-prepared. For students who received a “Not Achieved,” in the recent CAA’s, there will be a second opportunity to sit the assessment during our school exams from the 1st to the 12th of September 2025. A follow-up email will be sent in August confirming entries, along with exam dates, rooming, and preparation details. Rest assured, we’ll continue to support and guide students through their learning so they’re ready to give it their best.
