TALOFA LAVA! Next week is full of pride and culture, as we recognise Schools' Pride Week Aotearoa AND Samoan Language Week (1 - 7 June 2025).
- Pacific Performance group practices at lunchtime and after school all week
- Tuesday and Wednesday - Form time, learn a word or phrase
- Thursday - Volleyball in the gym at lunchtime, with Samoan music
- Friday - Shared lunch in Mana Tangata
Form Class competition for the most recordings of Samoan greetings and phrases submitted - send in recordings of your form class using Samoan words / phrases for House points, to Mrs Webb. (Winners and Prizes to be announced next week).
Did you know? The Samoan language has many components, depending on the situation and the company you are speaking to. There is 'simple' Samoan, more 'complex' Samoan, there is 'everyday' language, and there is also 'respectful' language. There is language specific to young people, and a separate language that pertains to chiefs and orators.
