Jnr Language Showcase

Junior language students brought culture to life through an inspiring art showcase that blended language learning with visual creativity.
As part of their curriculum, Year 9 and Year 10 students explored the lives and work of influential artists from Aotearoa, Germany, Spanish-speaking countries, and Japan.
Each student selected an artist from the culture they are studying, researched and wrote about them in the target language, and then recreated one of their signature works - adding a personal interpretation or modern twist.
The showcase (held on Wednesday 11 June) was a huge success, with a fantastic turnout from whānau, friends, and staff. Visitors were impressed not only by the artistic talent on display but also by the depth of cultural understanding and language use that each piece represented.
This cross-curricular project celebrated creativity, identity, and global perspectives - an unforgettable experience for students and our wider school community.
