(English) Tom Everett - Kia ora! I am excited to be working in the same high school that I attended many years ago. I am an avid reader, writer, and musician. I love the beach, bushwalks, and I am looking forward to giving back to my community.
(Hospitality) Rashmi Holt - Kia ora, it is wonderful to be welcomed into the GBHS whānau. I am an experienced teacher and used to be a professional chef. My passion is the culinary arts and I believe hospitality provides an incredible opportunity to gain both theoretical and practical skills that can be taken anywhere in the world. My goal is to create inclusive spaces where tauira are challenged to be creative, make mistakes, persevere and gain confidence in themselves as learners. As a local, it’s a privilege to be working with and for the community.
(Social Sciences) Kyla Fisher - Kia ora! I am excited to be joining the GBHS Social Sciences department - teaching Junior Social Studies and Geography this year. I originally hail from South Auckland and have lived in various parts of Auckland my whole life, including study at the University of Auckland (BA/BSc, GDipTch). I have a passion for Aotearoa’s beautiful landscapes and love nothing more than being out in it. I spend my free time hiking and walking, cooking and eating, or staying inside with a cup of tea and a book. I am looking forward to my time at Green Bay High School, the perfect location - close to the beach and close to the mountains!
(Sciences) Dominic English - Kia Ora everyone, I am very excited to be joining the GBHS Sciences department. I am a born and bred Aucklander. I am also a beginner teacher and couldn't be happier starting my teaching career at Green Bay High School. I have an interest in music and sport and I began my teaching journey as a skateboard instructor (!) Biology is my specialty in science and I love anything botany related. I am keen to introduce my students to science in the same way that I was taught by wonderful science teachers when I was a student.
(Teacher in Training/TTI Programme - English) Elizabeth (Libby) Brickland - Experienced writer, I can spin a yarn which would ignite even those with no passion. Iam passionate about weaving strong artistic skills and technical proficiency to contribute to dynamic environments. I am known for adaptability, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving, with a driving desire for diversity and resonant storytelling.Training to be a teacher is truly a dream come true!
