Year 13 General Science and Year 13 Earth and Space Science students attended a field trip to Stardome recently.

Students are learning about Planet Formation for their internal assessment, which is to be completed in term 1 - worth 4 NCEA Level 3 credits and counts towards Merit/Excellence endorsement in Year 13 Science.

Students were there to learn about how planets, in particular Earth, were formed, what is visible in the current night sky, the structure of the Milky Way and other galaxies and watched a film about the history and formation of Earth.

NCEA Level 3 Earth & Space Science (03ESS) further develops the skills you learnt in Earth and Space Science (NCEA Levels 1 and 2), exploring planet formation, Mars colonisation, and ocean systems - including practical investigation component. This course consists of 3 internal assessments and 2 external assessments for a total of twenty (20) NCEA Level 3 credits.
