Years 10/11/12 Literacy and Numeracy Digital Exams (final opportunity for 2023).

Green Bay High School is continuing to offer the new Literacy and Numeracy Standards in Week 4 of Term 4 for a select group of students

If your child is required to sit the Lit/Num exams, your child (and parent/caregivers) will have received an email.

The Literacy and Numeracy Standards aim to provide foundational skills to support students in further studies, work, and life. It is an important opportunity to complete these exams for 2023.

Our English and Maths departments have been preparing your child in readiness to have a positive experience using the new digital platform. Our teachers are committed to supporting your child to achieve in these assessments. If students have concerns there is extra support from our teaching staff in the Maths clinic, and from English teachers in the Library after school every Tuesday and Thursday.

Literacy (Writing and Reading)

  • READING: Monday 30th October (Week 4), periods 1 & 2, 8:40 am - 10:45 am
  • WRITING: Tuesday, 31st October (Week 4), periods 1 & 2, 8:40 am - 10:45 am Note: In the Writing and Reading Exam slots, students should arrive at 8:40am to their allocated room (alphabetically ordered).

Numeracy

  • Friday 3rd November (Week 4), periods 1 & 2, 8:40 am - 10:45 am Note: In the Numeracy Exam slot students should arrive at 8:40am to their allocated room (alphabetically ordered)

Students will need to check their school email over the coming weeks, regarding exam room allocations and expectations.

In preparation for Writing, Reading and Numeracy assessments, please read over the following information:

  • Be ready and be prepared: HOW TO CREATE YOUR NZQA ACCOUNT
  • It is important to check your device prior to the exam: NZQA DEVICE & CHECKLIST
  • It is important to practise digital exams: FIND PAST DIGITAL EXAMS
  • In Writing and Numeracy, you can bring your headphones to access the text-to-speech function (Polly)
  • As this is a digital exam, it is extremely important that students arrive at their designated
  • examination room with a fully charged device and with a charger
  • Students who qualify for Special Assessment Conditions will be notified prior to the examination
  • with regard to their individual needs and the expectations around this
  • If you have device issues please inform your teacher immediately
