Snr Gateway and Pathway Applications

Applications are now open for Gateway and Pathway placements for GBHS's Year 12 and 13 students (2023). Gateway and Pathways are a great opportunity to trial jobs and courses you are interested in. Application forms are now live in SchoolPoint. Students are to log on to SchoolPoint and select the Gateway or Pathways form link in the menu on the left-hand side.

Applications are due by the end of week 10 and interviews will take place at the start of Term four.

What is Gateway? Gateway is a 5 - 10 week (1 day a week) Work Experience Programme where students can earn up to 20 Unit Standard credits. Opportunities range from Retail experience, Early Childhood, Diving, Event Management, Art Design, Audio Engineering and more.

What is Pathways? Pathways is when you study at a tertiary provider one day a week in terms 1,2+3. You will gain up to 20 NCEA credits on the course and have the opportunity to meet other like-minded students. Subjects on offer in 2021 range from Police preparation to Mechatronics. A good attendance record and the ability to keep on top of your schoolwork is a must.
