Imagine having a set of multi-language learning cards in your back pocket - readily available to help you learn new languages!
Mia Baguley, Lizzy Ernst, and Evie Campbell are Year 13 Business students who have come up with the concept of 'Cardolingo', a set of playing cards including NZ Sign Language, English, Māori, Samoan, Hindi, and Mandarin.
Each set of visually attractive and easy-to-use cards makes learning a new language fun. Implementing common words and phrases, Cardolingo promotes the use of basic structures, providing learners with the ability to use cards effectively for communication and understanding.
The concept of Cardolingo came from an idea Lizzie had when she moved to NZ as a young child, and thought about how good it would have been to have something handy to help her learn new words and their understanding.
Having already designed and manufactured the cards, Mia, Lizzy, and Evie are further developing their product to include audio clips for their phrases - and are currently looking for students who may be interested in helping them create pronunciation videos.
If this sounds like a skill you have and would like to share your language with others, please contact the Cardolingo group via their 03 Business email: [email protected]
