Archery Boost

GBHS’s Archers had their eye on the target during last week’s exciting, but challenging afternoon of shooting.

The Recurve team Isaac Beech (Yr 9), Fern Burley (Yr 12) and Ethan Winson (Yr 12) easily beat their competition (a team of 4) by 186 points!

The wind was very gusty and the archers had to be patient, choosing their moments to release each arrow.

Barebow archers Leo Ferguson (Yr 9), and Nathan Bennett (Yr 10) were just pipped at the post in their competition with a tight match, and Compound archer Jesse Matheson (Yr 11) was frustrated with a challenging afternoon.

However, the team were given a real boost when Mr Woodward turned up to see their skills in action and were thrilled that he had taken the time out to watch, support and learn more about archery.
