Cultural Council Leaders - Benji Godsmark (Yr 12), Rachael Stephens (Yr 12), Samantha Keleti (Yr 12) and Janelle Saili (Yr 10) took the initiative to facilitate an assembly for GBHS's Pasifika students, at form time (Wednesday 9 April).
During the assembly, students presented a set of slides outlining staff who were available to support Pasifika students:

They also talked about all of the opportunities available to our students, such as celebrating Pacific Language weeks throughout the year and including:
Polypride:
- A space for all Pacific students and anyone who is interested in learning about Pacific cultures.
- Wednesday lunchtime for everyone
- P5 for seniors
- After school for everyone
- In Mana Tangata
Performance Groups:
- Anyone who wants to be involved, either to learn or perform
- We currently have students signed up for Cook Island, Niuean, Tongan, Samoan groups
Cultural Week:
- Week 7 (term 2)
- GBHS will be celebrating all of our cultures with food, music, information and the option to wear formal cultural dress on Friday 13th June 2025.
Feedback from all students in attendance was very positive - the Cultural Council leaders are hoping to hold these assemblies more often.
