Congratulations to Amaria Williams (Year 12) who has been successful in her application to take part in the BLAKE Inspire programme, held in the Waikato, this July.
The BLAKE Inspire programme is a week-long residential leadership development programme run by the (Sir Peter) Blake Foundation for inspirational young leaders, in partnership with the Ministry for the Environment.
With only 35 placements available nationwide (for the July intake) Amaria is both excited and thankful to have been selected for this opportunity and is looking forward to taking part in environmental and marine science activities as well as learning about what different industries are doing to reduce their impact on the environment.
Amaria was supported in her application process by whaea Tia McIver, whaea Anna Jolly, and matua Hamish Mackay, who provided letters of recommendation, praising Amaria for her continuous effort of preserving our taiao (nature and environment) and her leadership qualities as captain of the school Premier Netball team.
"I'm looking forward to learning about different ways that I can pass on and share information with others about how we can all do our part to preserve te taiao ".
