Kia ora e te whānau;

We’ve reached the end of our first action-packed five-day week of school! Our senior students are already working towards their first internal assessments, and our junior students have settled in well to the routine of school life. It’s great to see learning in action across the school.

Co-curricular activities are now in full swing, and summer sports have kicked off, with boys' and girls' volleyball starting this week and tennis and cricket set to begin over the weekend. We’re encouraging all students to get involved in activities that interest them - it’s a great way to connect with others, make new friends, and discover new passions.

Our Year 13 student leaders continue to really impress me with their leadership across the school. This week, they’ve led our House assemblies and have been working hard to establish our five student councils for the year. The whakataukī they’ve chosen for 2025 is:

"E koekoe te tūī, e ketekete te kākā, e kūkū te kererū." The tūī chatters, the kākā gabbles, the kererū coos.

I love this message because it highlights the value of different voices coming together to shape our school community, and that everyone is supported to succeed.

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!

Fiona Barker, PRINCIPAL
