U20 Fencing World Cup ...
James Price (Year 13) has a busy time ahead - with NCEA exams, award evenings, and national and international Fencing competitions!
James, along with fellow student Elise Lins (Year 13) who were both recently awarded a Don Oliver Youth Sport Scholarship, competed in the Fencing New Zealand National Open, held in Christchurch, over Labour Weekend.
- James came 3rd= out of 47 competitors in the Open Men's Épée.
- Elsie came 2nd out of 32 competitors in the Open Women's Épée.
These are absolutely stunning results considering the caliber, age, and experience of the internationally ranked fencers that both James and Elsie had to beat along the way to make podium finishes.
James now has his NCEA exams to focus on, before taking part in the U20 Fencing World Cup (in Hong Kong) at the end of the month - flying out, ready to compete the day after his final L3 NCEA exam!
