Ryan secures 2nd in NZ!

UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO JUNIOR MATHS COMPETITION:
The results are in! Huge congratulations to:
- Ryan Lott: Second (Yr 10). Score: 70. Awarded 2nd Prize: $250
- Juliette Colquhoun: Top 30 (Yr 10). Score: 57 Outstanding Award Prize: $50
- Jibriil Omar: Certificate of Distinction (Yr 9). Score 37
A further thirteen GBHS students also received Certificates of Merit during the first part of the competition - awarded to approximately the top 50% of students at each level. Congratulations to:

This year the competition was held in two parts - the first being a multiple-choice and short answer exam sat entirely online, followed by a paper exam limited to the top 15 percent of participants in the first part. The University of Otago Junior Maths Competition is for students in Years 9 to 11 with the emphasis on problem-solving. Textbooks are not allowed, although calculators can be used.
